Veenapani Lalit Kala Samaroh

The cultural meet encompassed song, dance, recitation, instrumental, mime etc. The Samaroh was organised at Uhani Pathar Gaon, Dipota, Tezpur. The innaugural Programme of the Samaroh was graced by Prof. Pradip Jyoti Mahanta, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Science, Tezpur University, Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide, Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. Sri. Jeetan Basumatary, renowned Indian classical vocalist, Guwahati was the Chief Guest in the Valedictory Programme which was conducted in Ban Threatre, Tezpur on 24 - 28th December 2014; 350 Students; VKV Tezpur.

Phonetics & Ganit Workshops

A Workshop on Phonetics was conducted in VKV Ramnagar on 19th August 2014. 22 students participated in it. Sri Jayanta Choudhury, Prof. of TT College, was the main resource person in the workshop.
The Vidyalaya also conducted a 4-day Ganit (Maths) workshop where 90 students took part. Dr. Karabi Dutta Choudhury, Associate Professor, Deptt. of Mathematics, Assam University Silchar guided the students in the workshop that was held on 20th December 2014 on 19.08.14 & 20.12.14; VKV Ramnagar.

MEJSP launched at Dibrugarh

Saumar Bhumi Vibhag organised a public meeting on 30.11.14 in Lakshminath Bezbaruah Sahitya Sabha Bhawan, Chowkidinghee, Dibrugarh with cooperation from VKV Dibrugarh to launch MEJSP in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Sivasagar districts of Assam. Dr. Nagen Saikia, Former President of Axom Sahitya Sabha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mananeeya Balakrishnanji, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari delivered the keynote address in presence of Shri Prakash Kakoty, Vibhag Sanchalak and Sri Samiran Dey, an associate of Mananeeya Eknathji. Over 300 persons from the Vibhag attended the programme.

Children’s Day Celebration on 14 Nov, 2014

The Vidyalaya observed 14th November, Children’s Day amidst various colourful programmes. The programme started at 10:30 a.m. with Mangalachran. Students of class K.G performed an action song, followed by a speech by Sushmita Dasgupta of class V. A Bihu dance was performed by a group of young minds belonging to primary section of the Vidyalaya. A group of teachers presented a group song entitled ‘Asom amar rupohi’.

A creative dance by the boys of class IV enthralled the audience. This was followed by another action

song based on the most popular song ‘ Yug nirmata hum bache’. The Principal of the School, Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, in his speech said how Nehruji propelled India towards technology and Scientific development and also referred about Bal Swachata Mission which was effected from 14th November, 2014 to 19th November, 2014 in the school. This was followed by a group song by girls of class IV, ‘Aai deu re’. The programme concluded with a group dance performed by the girls of IV and V.

Rashtriya Ekta Divas 2014

Rashtriya Ekta Divas was celebrated in our school on 31st of October, 2014, on the occasion of  birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel , The Iron Man of India. The motto of the programme was to foster national unity and integrity safety and security amongst all our children in the schooling years so that every child appreciates these values in their lives. To mark the celebration on Pan India basis, 350 centres were selected all over India and of the 12 centres of Assam, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, 

Dibrugarh is the only centre in upper Assam. Along with Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya, Naliapool Bengali High School, NandeswarChakrabortyHigh School and Shree  Agrasen Academy participated actively. The programme started at 9:30 a.m and continued for five hours concluding at 2:30p.m.

The Chief Guest Dr. Shristidhar Dutta, Retired professor & Head of the Department of History; Dean and Faculty of Social Science , Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar flagged off  the ‘Run For Unity’. The main programme started  with mangalacharan. Address of welcome was by the Principal of the school, Sri  Ravindranath D. Savdeykar followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest. A small cultural programme was organised  by the students participating school. The chief guest delivered the significance of the day Dr. Dutta focused on the importance of National Unity and the relevance of  SardarVallabhbhai Patel’s action and word in uniting the people of India. The National Unity Day Pledge was taken by all the students, teachers and parents.

A Poster Making competition with the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ‘Swach Bharat’ was organized. A Debate competition on topic ‘television and Movies influence kids more than their parents and teachers was also organized for students of classes 8 to 10. ShriAmbarishBhattachrarjee, Teacher, Marwari Hindi High School, Dibrugarh, and Teacher of Fine Arts, SaraswatiChitra Kala Niketan, Dibrugarh  acted as judge in Poster Making competition. Dr. RanjitSinha, Professor, Department of Political Science, Dibru College was the speaker in the debate competition. 

Renowned judges like Smt. AnjuBorkotoky, Subject Teacher, Department of English, Moran Higher Secondary School; Dr. Jaswant Singh, Professor, Department of Anthropology, Dibru College, Dibrugarh; Smt. Indrani Dasgupta, Professor, Department of Education, M.D.K. Girls College, Dibrugarh.  97 students participated in the poster making competition and 18 students participated in the debate competition.The participation of the students, irrespective of their boards was encouraging, which showed their enthusiasm and sends an important message of unity in sustaining any work. A total no. of 743 participants including staff, parents and well-wishers graced the celebration. The Principal of the school thanked all the participants for the success of the programme.

National Award for Teachers

The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Ramesan P.V., who has completed 25 years in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas, been awarded the prestigious National Award for teachers 2014 by the Govt. of India  for his meritorious service throughout his teaching career on 5 th Sept 2015. He was handed over the award by the Hon. President of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhawan, New  Delhi in presence of Hon. Minister (HRD), Smt.Smriti Zubin Irani and other renowned dignitaries. A Teachers' Orientation Camp for senior teachers completing 12 years of service in VKVs of Assam and Nagaland was conducted with the focus on Team building and devolopment of leadership quality. Sri Arvind Gore, an eminent educationalist from Pune, was the main resource person in the camp. Swami Sumanasanandaji Maharaj, Seceretary, Ramkrishna Mission, Cherrapunjee blessed the participants during the inaugural address. Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide & Sri D. Bhanudas, Vice President and General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Knyakumari respectively also guided the participants. Prof. Alak Kr. Buragohain, Vice Chancellor, Dibrugarh University and Sri H.K. Changmai, HOP, NEEPCO, Bokuloni graced the valedictory ceremony on 23rd - 26th August 2014; 117 teachers; VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni.

Raksha Bandhan

                                       Raksha Bandhan was celebrated 


on 11th August 2014 amidst joy and sanctity. A teacher of school Sri Partha Sarothi Deb spoke on significance of the occasion. On the solemn occasion brothers tied rakhis to ​the sisters after the brief observation. Students escorted by teachers in groups visited various offices and tied rakhis to the people.

‘Raksha Bandhan’ was celebrated in school by offering Rakhi to Swamiji’s portrait and tieing of Rakhi to a plant by the Principal. Teachers tied  Rakhis to the parents there  students tied rakhi to each other and went to Naokata, Suagpur, Goreswar and other nearby areas to tie Rakhis.

On 17th July 2014, Mr. B.K. Boruah, ED, Asset Manager (Assam Aset), ONGC Nazira laid the foundation stone of ONGC sponsored building in VKV Sivsagar. Along with him Mr. S.L. Purohit, DGM, CSR, ONGC, Nazira and Mr. S.c. Sinha, CE (D), ONGC Nazira too attended the ceremony.

 A 7-day Workshop, under the aegis of academy for New Education and Sri Aurobindo Society of India, was held at Nainital with the theme 'Good Teacher, Good Pupil'. The workshop focused on 'How a good teacher and a good pupil can make a country better'. The participants from different parts of the country joined the workshop.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Doyang

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Doyang came into being as Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari took over Kendriya Vidyalaya Doyang in 2000 on invitation from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) and as per a Memorandum of Understanding between VK Kanyakumari and NEEPCO. The Vidyalaya is financed by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation. VKV (NEEPCO) Doyang is the second CBSE affiliated secondary school in Wokha, the district head quarters of the Lothas.

Situated in a scenic location Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Doyang is about 28 km. away from Wokha. The river Doyang, which flows across the valley, is also the life-line of Wokha and lends most beauty to the place. The prime feature of Doyang is that the river Doyang has on it the 75 MW Hydro-Electric Power Plant, the only power plant of the state.

Remarkable Achievements

• In the past ten years the students have exhibited excellence in various events like UN Information Test, Painting Competitions conducted by Bureau of Energy Conservation (Ministry of Power), Krida Mahostava, Lalit Kala Samaroha, Aryabhata Vijnan Sangosthi / Prakalpa (Science Seminar / Investigatory Science Project), Srimanta Sankaradeva Natya Samoroha (Drama Compitition), Maha Bhaskara Shastra Vijnan Pradarshini organised by VKSPV etc.

• The Vidyalaya clinched the Best School Award in Investigatory Science Project and also the award for ‘Best Topic’ selection in 2010.

• Two students of the Vidyalaya Khoni Chachei (V) and Sujhiini Chachei (IV) were selected for the National Level Painting Competition organsied by Bureau of Energy Efficiency in Delhi in December 2010.

• Kr. Yaman Kalyan Deka of class X was selected for a tabla recital in Cultural Festival held at Hyderabad in July-August 2010 which was organised by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi.

• Sri Kalyan Deka (teacher) was awarded Shilpi Prerona Bota in 2009 for his contribution in Indian Classical Music. The award was instituted by North East Niyog Sambad Guwahati.

Best Practices

• The school offers free coaching classes to students after regular school hours. This has been in practice since the inception of the school in 2000.

Special Mention

The Vidyalaya has completed ten years in 2010 and as part of its decennial celebration hosted the event titled ‘Investigatory Science Project’ from 17th to 20th November 2010. The Vidyalaya also conducted various competitions for 15 nearby schools in Wokha district to mark the occasion.

Expansion VKV Sadiya Innaugurated Sadiya

VKV Sadiya was inaugurated on the World Environment Day with Ganapati Puja. A few distinguished guests present on the occasion were Dr. Lakshmanan S., IAS, SDO (Civil), Sadiya and Dr. Dhananjay P. Ghanawat, IPS, Additional SP, Chapakhowa, Sadiya among others. About 300 persons attended the programme. The highlights of the inaugural function were: Rabha Dance, Rabindra Sangeet, Patriotic Song and a plantation programme. Sri. Keshab Sing Limboo, son of Late Gopal Singh Limboo, Ex-President of NEA School Society laid the foundation of one room in memory of his father.

Expansion VKV Sadiya Innaugurated; 5th June, 2014; Sadiya



VKV Sadiya was inaugurated on the World Environment Day with Ganapati Puja. A few distinguished guests present on the occasion were Dr. Lakshmanan S., IAS, SDO (Civil), Sadiya and Dr. Dhananjay P. Ghanawat, IPS, Additional SP, Chapakhowa, Sadiya among others. About 300 persons attended the programme. The highlights of the inaugural function were: Rabha Dance, Rabindra Sangeet, Patriotic Song and a plantation programme. Sri. Keshab Sing Limboo, son of Late Gopal Singh Limboo, Ex-President of NEA School Society laid the foundation of one room in memory of his father.

Capacity Building Workshop on CCE

A total of 48 participants from all the 3 VKVs of Barak Valley Cluster including the Head Masters and senior teachers attended a Capacity Building Workshop of CBSE on 'Continuos and Comprehensive Evaluation' at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Ramnagar, Silchar on 10th May, 2014.

Report on Teachers’ Workshop (Laipuli, Tinsukia)

From 24th feb to 27th Feb, 2014 a teachers’ workshop organized by VKSPV to train the teachers in various aspects of A.B.L. i.e. Activity Based Learning and A.L.M. i.e. Active Learning Methodology. The guest of honour of this workshop was Mr. M.P. Vijay Kumar, who is the man behind this ABL & ALM system. He is a retired I.A.S. officer and he is working as a project director of sarba Shiksha  Abhiyan.(Tamilnadu) 

MR. VIJAY KUMARJIDated 24th February,2014:- Programme Started with Tilakam and Registration of different teachers from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. Total 47 teachers Participated where for ABL 32 teachers had come and for ALM 18 teachers. The programme continued with a welcome speech, Introduction of the chief guest then the main objectives of the Vivekananda Kendra which had been told by Kamalakanta Sir. In between that time Vijay Kumar ji had also told about the ALM and ABL system which included its meaning and its objectives.

Session 1:- Session started at 6:30 p.m. with the introduction of the participants. During the session Vijay Kumar ji had told about the best teaching methods which a teacher should use in the class. Then an activity was given to the participants based on certain rules where the participants could not ask questions, could not copy from others and even they were not allowed to discuss the topic. Then again he had given the same activity to the participants and this time he had allowed them to ask questions. Then he told them to compare the two activity, though the 2nd activity was a bit better than the 1st one but still the participants were not able to draw the desired diagram. This was because though the participants were allowed to ask questions, they asked many questions at a time for which both the teacher and the participants were confused. The session ended at evening 7.50 p.m. This session was for ALM participants.

Date 25th February, 2014:- The day started with Pratah-smaran at 5.15 a.m. This day all the sessions ABL ROOMwere for ALM Participants.

Session 1 : - The session started at 9.15 a.m. where Sri Vijay Kumar ji had asked three questions to the participants which were (i) what we want from our students? (ii) Where do they stand now? (ii) How do we measure them? Different opinions had seen from the participants. Some related problems also shared with him. However, the resource person had also given some solution of those particular problems. Session ended at 11.00 a.m.

Session 2:- Session started at 11.15 a.m. with an activity based on picture reading and description of that. During the session Vijay Kumar ji had also introduced the concept of mind map and its various works. Session ended at 1.05 p.m.

Session 3:- Afternoon 2.15 pm. The session started with a demo class of ALM system done by Gyanendra sir who taught the subject Science. Participants were divided into groups and they were asked to make the mind map, summary of that topic and to frame relevant questions. After the activity it was cleared that students can learn better if teachers will use ALM system, Then again Lukumoni didi had also taken an ALM class of history which clearly said that through this ALM system students’ thinking capacity, imagination and creative aspects will increase more. Session ended at 5:40 pm.

WITH MATHS KITSDate: 26th February, 2014- Day started with pratah-smaran and yoga at morning 5:15 am.

Session 1:- Started at 8:00 am with the observation of ABL classes. The session was for ABL participants. The resource person had gone to the ABL classes for inspection where different ABL teachers had taken their classes’ .He had also interacted with the students as well as the teachers. Teachers had discussed their problems with him and then he cleared all their doubts with a practical class. Session ended at 11-40 a.m.

Session 2:- The session started at 12:45 pm with different demo classes taken by the ALM teachers with the students of class VIII. Shri Vijay Kumarji observed the classes and given a good comment.

Session 3:- At 2:40 pm the feedback session of the ALM teachers had started where some teachers had shared their feeling and almost all teachers were agree to implement the ALM system.

Session 4:- Session started at 4:55 pm with the ABL participants where they discussed their problems with the resource person and to solve their problems Shri Vijay Kumarji had moved towards the ABL classes with the participants. The participants shared the problems of English and he tried to solve their problems. Session ended at night 8 O’clock.

 

Date. 27th February, 2014

Session 1:- Morning 6 o’clock the session started with the discussion of mathematics where Shri Vijay Evening_Session with Kumarji Kumarji had trained the participants about how to use the mathematical kit. The session continued upto8-30 a.m.

Session2:- Then again at 8-30am there was a SALM i.e. Supportive Active Learning Methodology demo class taken by the participants of ALM in Class V. This methodology can only be used in Class V and VI. Shri Vijay Kumarji had also observed the classes and given some necessary tips to the participants.
Session 3:- again at 10:00 am the session started with the discussion of the subject Mathematics which include how to use the spindle board, beads etc. and the different concepts of mathematics. He also told to the participants to practice it.

Session 4:- At 1-30pm there was a common session for all the teachers both ABL and ALM and the topic of discussion was- “why ABL and ALM system are important for the students?”
Concluding Session:- At 4:30 pm the session started. Participants had shared their views on both ABL and ALM system as well as their experience in the workshop. VKSPV member Mira Didi had also join this session who really appreciated the workshop which given a good chance to the teachers to learn more about ABL and ALM system. The principal of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Laipuli Tinsukia, Pranati Didi had also shared her journey when she had first introduced the ABL system in VKV Tinsukia.  At last Sri M. P. Vijay Kumar ji also shared his experience with the participants with lots of good comments and appreciation.
