AN EDUCATIONAL ENDEAVOUR WITH A DIFFERENCE

Can you really stay aloof from such a noble endeavour as this ???

Does your heart feel for the nation and do you want to make a difference in the Nation’s life?

Are you one of Swami Vivekananda’s chosen hundred?

Have you heard Swamiji’s clarion call to the Nation: ‘Arise, Awake and stop not till the goal is reached’?

Have you realised the importance of man making and nation building education that Swamiji so strongly advocated in his lifetime?

Are you among those who believe there can’t be anything nobler than these ideals an organisation should stand for?

If your answer to any of the above is ‘yes’,

what are you waiting for then?

Come and associate with Vivekananda Kendra & Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas. Come and join Vivekananda Kendra or its schools (VKVs) and certainly you will never have to regret for it.

* VK and VKVs are the places you should go to.

* VK and VKVs are the places worth investing your time in.

* VK and VKVs are the real places of service worth investing your money in.

* VK and VKVs are the places that need conscientious people like you for support and patronage.

* VK and VKVs are the places for those who care about real service to the people of the nation.

* VK OR VKV MEANS PURE SERVICE TO THE NATION, NOTHING ELSE.

WHAT VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYAS STAND FOR:

VKVs are Vidyalayas with a difference. With the noble ideals of Man Making and Nation Building these schools of Vivekananda Kendra have really come to stay. They do not only strive for academic excellence but also involve teachers and students in Man Making and Nation Building activities. These are centres of extra-ordinary fervour and excellence in terms of value education, instilling in students the sense of righteousness, discipline, duty to the society and the Motherland. VKVs also cultivate in the students love and respect for the nation’s age-old and rich cultural heritage. On the other hand, the students in VKVs garner the maximum benefits from the vast resources of the nation’s glorious past as well as the IT age the country is striding into presently, by means of disciplines such as Yoga and Computer Science. The VKVs also lay equal emphasis on campus development, its beautification and provide students with all facilities for their all round development.

Vivekananda Kendra is a spiritually oriented Service Mission. As a voluntary organisation, it serves the humanity after the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. It serves the nation through its Man-making and Nation-Building projects such as Educational projects like APT and VKSPV, Cultural and Sustainable Development Programmes and through more than 225 branch centres located across India.

Vivekananda Kendra runs 18 CBSE-affiliated English medium Vidyalayas under one of its Educational projects “Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag” (VKSPV) in the north-eastern region of India. Currently VKSPV has opened its schools in Assam & Nagaland. These schools are known as “Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas” (VKVs). Some of the schools are up to Higher Secondary level. VKVs have been recognised by the people of NorthEast India as some most reputed and sought-after educational institutions providing quality education to the masses in these two states.

For more information about our Vidyalayas, log on to our websites www.vkspv.org and www.vkendra.org.

VKSPV invites application for the posts of teachers in the VKVs of Assam & Nagaland. Apart from required educational qualifications, the organisation seeks in the candidates a zeal for social service and an urge to serve the motherland India in its northeastern Himalayan corner.

VKVs provide ample scope of professional as well as personal growth to its teachers.

"They alone live whose lives are in the whole universe. The more we concentrate our lives in limited things, the faster we go towards death. Those moments alone we live when our lives are in the universe, in others; and living this little life is death, simply death, and that is why the fear of death comes."

Matri Puja in VKV Umrangso and Other Vidyalayas

For the first time, VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso organised a Matri Puja for the students of the outgoing batch of class X. All the students and their mothers attended the puja. It was an intimate emotional moment for the students and their mothers. The puja proved to be successful one in strengthening the bond of love between them. After the completion of the ceremony the students shared their experinces with the Vidyalaya family. Like every year, other VKVs also conducted Matri Puja.

Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag

Proclaims Swami Vivekananda... "India is a land of religion and philosophy -- the birthplace of spiritual giants -- the land of renunciation, where and where alone, from the most ancient to the most modern times, there has been the highest ideal of life open to man." "Let New India arise out of peasant's cottage, grasping the plough out of the huts of fishermen, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her spring from the grocer's shop, from beside the oven of the fritter-seller. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts and from markets. Let her emerge from groves and forests, from hills and mountains." The Thought Behind Vivekananda Kendra Man. Eknathji Ranade, founder of Vivekananda Kendra "An aggregate or a congregation of men does not make a nation, nor do the geographical area and duration of time quality a society to be known as a nation. A government formed on such basis can be called a state, but not a nation. All the constituents strive collectively for something noble. Service with a spiritual orientation results in man making which is invariably and inseparably connected with nation building. It is the core of all our thoughts behind this organization [Vivekananda Kendra]" Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs) Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Education through VKVs is a Gyan-Yagna started by Maneneeya Eknathji Ranade.... Educational service through Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs) in North-east India under Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) is one of the service activities of its parent organization Vivekananda Kendra, a spiritually oriented service mission with its headquarters at Kanyakumari. Vivekananda Rock Memorial (VRM) To commemorate the historic meditation of Swami Vivekananda on the mid-sea rock at Kanyakumari on 25th, 26th and 27th December 1892, a magnificent memorial was constructed in the sixties. It was inaugurated in 1970 and has since become a point of National Convergence. Over the years, this concrete symbol of inspiration has drawn millions of pilgrims and inspired them to serve the society. Vivekananda Rock Memorial Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Night Even as the Vivekananda Rock Memorial was taking shape, Man. Eknathji Ranade also envisaged a mission that would realize the motto of Man-making and Nation-building. The result was the conception and formation of the Vivekananda Kendra as a spiritually oriented service mission. Vivekananda Kendra reflects Swami Vivekananda's vision of glorious India in action. The Vivekananda Kendra is an eternal call for those who aspire to dedicate their life to serve the nation. It aims at national reconstruction through Man Making. To mould dedicated workers, the Kendra adopts a methodology unique to it by organising 'Yoga Varga', 'Samskar Varga', 'Swadhyaya Varga' ('Study Circle') and training camps.

Aims and Objectives - VKSPV

Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag : An Overview

Project Objectives : With the twin objectives of Man Making-Nation Building envisioned by the great Patriot Saint Swami Vivekananda, Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV), Tezpur, an educational wing of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari administers Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs). VKVs impart nationalistic education in the entire Northeast India save Arunachal Pradesh (where VKVAPT, another educational wing of Vivekananda Kendra, is administering 33 Vidyalayas).

Total Vidyalayas:

Presently VKSPV has under its set-up 21 Vidyalayas (20 in Assam and 1 in Nagaland), all of them co-educational and CBSE affiliated. Among these there are 4 Vidyalayas financed by various projects, one each at Bokulani, Umrangso, Baragolai and Doyang, and the rest are Self Financed Vidyalayas. It is worth to mention here that a Vidyalaya named Vivkekananda Vidyalaya (in Zirkinding village of Karbi Anglong district of Assam) is  also being supported by VKSPV at present.

History:

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari embarked on its educational project Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) in 2004 in order to effectively administer all the VKVs of Assam and Nagaland that had been running since the inception of the earliest VKV in 1978 at Tinsukia.
