Workshop On Active Learning Method

 

Capacity Building Workshops were organized for the teachers practicing Active Learning Method (ALM) on 25th, 28th and 30th May 2020. On 25th May Smt. Sivagami Sundari, former Chief Education Officer, Government of Tamilnadu, guided the teachers teaching Science, Social Science, EVS and Computer on the steps and the process of ALM in a model class attended by 51 teachers. Thereafter, on 28th May a model class on steps of ALM was conducted by Sri Satyanarayan, State Resource Person for ALM,Government of Tamilnadu for the language teachers of VKSPV. 46 language teachers partook in it. Smt. Sivagami Sundari conducted another session too on 30th May for the teachers on the topic'Mind Map and Lesson Plan'. 54 teachers took part in the session. On 6th and 7th June2020Smt. Sivagami Sundari conducted two more sessions for the teachers teaching Mathematics on the steps of ALM. 35 teachers of VKVs attended the sessions. Besides these, three more online sessions on ALM were organized during the year among the members of VKSPV for the benefit of the teachers.

Workshop On Activity Based Learning

On 22nd May 2020, an online session on ABL was held for all the teachers dealing with ABL. Sri M.P. Vijay Kumar, Retd. I.A.S officer, Tamilnadu, was the Resource Person of the sessions in which he explained aboutthe impact of Activity Based Learning and its benefits such as learning through involvement, understanding the dignity of labour, peer learning, decision making etc. In it a pupil is an active learner and a teacher is just a facilitator. Besides these, there were six more online sessions for the teachers of ABL conducted by a few teachers of VKVs experienced in the ABL methodology.

Session On Effective Online Classes

To enrich the teachers of VKVs with various effective ways of conducting online classes, five online sessions were organisedand these were conducted by Sri Ritwik Chakraborty, Headmaster, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni. On 8th May 2020 he conducted for the teachers three sessions where 193 teachers took part. On 9th May 2020 he conducted another session where 96 teachers participated. Subsequently,for a few selected teachers a session was conducted on 13th May 2020 and the topic of the session was Quality Improvement of Online Classes. 19 teachers attended the session.
