Empowering Educators: Pre-Primary Teachers’ Workshop

A four-day Pre-Primary Teachers’ Workshop was successfully conducted from 6th to 9th July 2025 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Laipuli, Tinsukia, organized by Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV), Guwahati. The workshop aimed to strengthen the foundation of early childhood education across VKVs and saw enthusiastic participation from 92 teachers representing 25 VKVs across Assam and Nagaland.

The training was designed with a focus on Pancha Koshiya Vikas (holistic development of the child) and aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). Sessions covered a wide range of essential themes such as play-based learning, pre-writing readiness, cognitive and language development, storytelling techniques, and lesson planning tailored for early learners.

A total of 26 engaging and interactive sessions were facilitated by experienced educators from various VKVs, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of pre-primary education. One of the highlights of the workshop was a special session by Mr. Chandra Kumar Dahal, Lecturer at DIET, Tinsukia, on the “Importance of Readiness in Early Childhood Education,” which emphasized developmental preparedness in young children.

The workshop also included classroom demonstrations, participant evaluations, and an exhibition of creative teaching aids, offering practical exposure to innovative teaching methodologies.

The Samapan Satra (Closing Ceremony) was graced by Shri Tridip Sharma Tamuly, and concluded with Ashirvachan (blessings) by Su. Pranoti Roy Rao of VKSPV. In her inspiring words, she encouraged the teachers to instill Bharatiya values and sanskaras in young learners, shaping their character from the very beginning.

This workshop stands as a strong step toward nurturing compassionate, confident, and culturally rooted educators in the VKV family.
