Cleanliness Drive


On 30th December 2020 a market clean-up drive was organized by VKV Suklai in collaboration with the people of CISF (COY No 40)of Udalguriat Naokota. The students and the teachers of the Vidyalaya accompanied by Sri Rakesh Bhushan, Battalion Commander, CISF COY 401, Sri S.P.Singh, Supervisor Officer and Sri Rajendra Singh,Commander, CISF cleaned up the market area and Naokota mini PHC.

Inhouse Badminton Competition

 On 19th December 2020 a badminton competition was organized by VKV, Kajalgaon among the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. In Girls' Doubles five teams took part, whereas in Boys' Doubles four teams participated. All the members of the staff took part enthusiastically in the competition that made it a great success. At the end of the competition the Headmaster of the school appreciated the participants offering them saplings.

Umang-A New Initiative

 Due to Covid-19 pandemic and temporary closure of educational institutions, the student community has been going through several challenges. Though the process of teaching learning has shifted from physical to digital mode, there are yet many students who are unable to access such technology. Therefore, VKV Tumpreng initiated the programme 'Umang' to reach out to the students during the lockdown following all the Covid-19 protocols. The programme started on 5th October 2020 and continued till 7th December2020. The teachers of the school went to different places in groups and conducted the session 'Umang'. The activities included were: introduction of students and teachers, sharing of experience of the lockdown phase including participation in household chores by students, stories, games, songs and model classes by the teachers.The initiative not only benefited the students in their studies but also kept them in close contact with their teachers and helped them to come out of the fear ofCovid-19.

Shastri And Gandhi Jayanti


On 2nd October 2020, on the occasion of Shastri and Gandhi Jayanti, VKV Ramnagar, Silchar conducted a slogan competition for the students of primary classes. With an objective of reuse of waste material, an Art and Craft activitywas also assigned to the students.It was demonstrated by the students in online mode. The creative outputs of the students were impressive.

Guru Purnima

 Guru Purnima was observed on 21st September 2020 on Virtual Platform.It was attended by the core team members of 25 VKVs including Principals and Vice Principals.During the programme, the message sent by Kum. Nivedita Bhide, Vice President, VK,Kanyakumari on the occasion of Guru Purnima was deliberated in detail by three teachers of VKSPV. Sri Diganta Biswa Sarma, Saha Prant Sanchalak, VK, Assam Prant delivered the keynote address.

Workshop On Purna Vidya(Value Education)

 A ten-day workshop on PurnaVidya was conducted by PurnaVidya Trust, Chennai from 15th to 26th June 2020. Eight senior teachers and Principals of VKSPV attended the workshop. As a follow up of this, another workshop for 2 or 3 selected teachers from each VKV teaching PurnaVidya was conducted from 7th to 19th September 2020.Here those eight members acted as resource persons. The objective of the workshop was 'Effective Ways of Teaching PurnaVidya'and 77 participants attended the workshop. Two mentors of the PurnaVidya Trust, Swamini Pramanand and Janakiji were also present in the programme. Vedic mantra chanting, games, sessions on the Puranas, interactive sessions for the teachers were some of the activities of the programme.

Webinar For Alumni


On 22nd August 2020,on the occasion of Mananeeya Eknathji’s Punyatithi and 50th year of Vivekanada Rock Memorial, a webinar on ‘VRM- Ek Bharat Vijayi Bharat’ for the alumni of VKVs was organized. Sri Vishwas Lapalkar, Prant Sangathak, VK Maharashtra Prant spoke on the relevance of the occasion. The webinar was streamed through different online platforms where 1300 people took part. The effort was led by VK, Dibrugarh-Tinsukia, Vibhag.

Workshop For Music And Sanskrit Teachers


From 1st July 2020 a workshop named 'Sanskriti' was organized under the guidance of Sri Krishna Kumar, VKV, Arunachal Pradesh Trust for the teachers of VKSPV teaching Music and Sanskrit. The workshop focused on proper pronunciation and tunes of school prayers, shlokas, mantras, bhajans, and songs of Padawali that are practised in VKVs. A total of 22 sessions were conducted effectively.The workshop ended on 31st July and in the Samapan Satra Dr. Manashi Sarmah, HOD of Sanskrit Deptt., MDK Girls’ College highlighted the importance of prayers and chants. 69 teachers took active part in it.

Webinar On Covid-19 And Its Economic Impact


An online session on 'Covid-19: Its Socio-Economic Impact and Related Issues'was held on 14th June 2020 for the teachers of Social Science and Environmental Studies of VKVs. Sri Ritu Kumar Mishra, International Civil Servant, UNO, Africa was the resource Dr. Manashi Sharma person of the session, which 83 participants attended. On 25th June he conducted another session for the librarians and a few selected teachers of Social Science and English. The topic of the session was 'Famous Books and Inherent Ideas in Them'. 101 teachers attended it.

 In order to raise global awareness among the students about taking positive environmental measures to protect the planet Earth, VKV Tezpur celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2020.Students of various classes ardently took part on the day’s programme. They planted saplings at their respective homes and shared some pictures with the teachers through Google Meet.

Workshop On Active Learning Method


Capacity Building Workshops were organized for the teachers practicing Active Learning Method (ALM) on 25th, 28th and 30th May 2020. On 25th May Smt. Sivagami Sundari, former Chief Education Officer, Government of Tamilnadu, guided the teachers teaching Science, Social Science, EVS and Computer on the steps and the process of ALM in a model class attended by 51 teachers. Thereafter, on 28th May a model class on steps of ALM was conducted by Sri Satyanarayan, State Resource Person for ALM,Government of Tamilnadu for the language teachers of VKSPV. 46 language teachers partook in it. Smt. Sivagami Sundari conducted another session too on 30th May for the teachers on the topic'Mind Map and Lesson Plan'. 54 teachers took part in the session. On 6th and 7th June2020Smt. Sivagami Sundari conducted two more sessions for the teachers teaching Mathematics on the steps of ALM. 35 teachers of VKVs attended the sessions. Besides these, three more online sessions on ALM were organized during the year among the members of VKSPV for the benefit of the teachers.

Workshop On Activity Based Learning

On 22nd May 2020, an online session on ABL was held for all the teachers dealing with ABL. Sri M.P. Vijay Kumar, Retd. I.A.S officer, Tamilnadu, was the Resource Person of the sessions in which he explained aboutthe impact of Activity Based Learning and its benefits such as learning through involvement, understanding the dignity of labour, peer learning, decision making etc. In it a pupil is an active learner and a teacher is just a facilitator. Besides these, there were six more online sessions for the teachers of ABL conducted by a few teachers of VKVs experienced in the ABL methodology.

Session On Effective Online Classes

To enrich the teachers of VKVs with various effective ways of conducting online classes, five online sessions were organisedand these were conducted by Sri Ritwik Chakraborty, Headmaster, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni. On 8th May 2020 he conducted for the teachers three sessions where 193 teachers took part. On 9th May 2020 he conducted another session where 96 teachers participated. Subsequently,for a few selected teachers a session was conducted on 13th May 2020 and the topic of the session was Quality Improvement of Online Classes. 19 teachers attended the session.
