VKV Borojalenga celebrates Vivekananda Jayanti

School Annual Day was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Borojalenga amidst enthusiasm and great joy among students, parents, teachers, and well-wishers. On this occasion, a rally was taken out in the morning from Rosekendy point to Assam University Campus where students offered floral tribute to Swamiji. The cultural program at school was graced by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Assam University, Silchar. He was accompanied by Prof Amritlal Ghosh, MBA & Prof M Gangabhusan, Dept, Social Work Associate Prof, Dept,  Computer Science, & Sri Biswa Ranjan Roy, Sri Prince Tulsian, Owner Baghbahar, T. E, Sri Nihar Ranjan Das, Sri Shuvankar Bhattacharjee, Sri Nirmalendu Deb, and other dignitaries. The program started with an invocation to the goddess Saraswati by a chorus and chanting of a Vedic hymn followed by a welcome song by students of IX and X. 

The Principal of the Vidyalaya welcomed all the invited guests and expressed sincere regards to hnbl'e VC, AUC for his gracious presence. Dr. RM Pant VC in his address emphasized on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and urged students to follow the ideals of Swamiji. He appreciated the efforts of VKVs in imparting value education among the students and blessed the participants in the program. He mentioned that VKVs are engaged in Nation Building Process in N.E. through sincere efforts in education. There were also present teachers from a few nearby schools and head teachers who escorted and guided their students to participate in the celebration activities. All the selected students of the govt schools came prepared and spoke on the given topics. The two-hour cultural program included a skit on Incidents from Life of Swami Vivekananda, a short drama on social awareness, quotations of Swamiji Vivekananda by students, a display of cultural items by tiny tots, patriotic songs, a few performances on the rich cultural heritage of India by selected students of various classes, group dance on the theme of 'Dashabatar'. Owner of Baghbahar T.E. Prince Tulsian, a follower of Swami Vivekananda in his short speech urged the students to practice Yoga and read Swamiji's literature and be worthy students of VKV. No students were present on the occasion 390 and 200 parents and other dignitaries were.  All the performances were attractive and colorful as the parents took care of the appropriate costume and supported to make the program a success. There was Prize Distribution at the end for prize winners of various athletic events and inter-house competitions.
