VKV Sivasagar Celebrates International Yoga Day with Expansive Community Outreach

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Sivasagar organised a grand celebration of International Yoga Day, reaching out to diverse segments of the community across five locations. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 1170 individuals.

Sivasagar Commerce College: With 350 participants, this venue featured Dr. Soumarjyoti Mahanta, Principal of Sivasagar Commerce College, as the esteemed guest. The program saw the active involvement of the college's principal, professors, and students. Kumari Gourangi Kaustab, a Class IX student from VKV Sivasagar, led the yoga session as the instructor, guiding participants through various asanas and breathing exercises. A dedicated group of students from classes VI to X showcased their yoga skills as demonstrators.

Juktali Senior Secondary School: This location hosted 90 participants, including the principal, teachers, and students. Sri Ranjan Borgohain, the school's principal, graced the occasion as the guest. Kumari Angarika Sarmah, a Class X student from VKV Sivasagar, served as the yoga instructor, while a group of students from classes VI to X demonstrated the asanas.

Namati Secondary School: With 80 participants, this event saw the presence of Sri Binod Pator, Headmaster of Namati Secondary School, along with the school's principal, teachers, and students. Kumar Antareep Borgohain, a Class IX student from VKV Sivasagar, led the yoga session as the instructor, and a group of students from classes VI to X served as demonstrators.

VKV Sivasagar Mothiachiga Unit: This venue had the highest participation with 550 attendees, primarily consisting of teachers and students. The yoga session was conducted by a team of instructors from VKV Sivasagar: Kumar Abhiraj Gogoi, Kumar Anshuman Borgohain, and Kumar Pritam Saikia. As in the other locations, a group of students from classes VI to X demonstrated the yoga asanas.

VKV SIVASAGAR AMOLAPATTY UNIT :The Amolapatty unit of VKV Sivasagar also witnessed a lively IYD celebration, with teachers and students participating in the yoga program. Kumari Namya Nandini, Kumar Veer Mandal Mitra, Kumari Disney Borah, and Kumar Gourang Kalita, along with Bijita Didi, guided the session, demonstrating asanas alongside a group of students from Class I & II.

The International Yoga Day celebrations organized by VKV Sivasagar were a resounding success, fostering widespread awareness and enthusiasm for yoga within the community. The involvement of students as instructors and demonstrators exemplified the school's commitment to promoting yoga as a way of life.
