VKV Suklai Celebrates World Environment Day with Creative Activities

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Suklai recently organized a series of engaging activities to commemorate World Environment Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage students to actively participate in conservation efforts.

The celebrations included a diverse range of activities tailored to different age groups:

  • Art/Colouring Competition: Students from Balvatika 1, 2, and 3 showcased their creativity and imagination in an art and colouring competition. This allowed the youngest learners to express their understanding of the environment through vibrant colours and drawings.
  • Drawing Competition: Classes 1 to 3 participated in a drawing competition, where they depicted their ideas on environmental protection and conservation. This activity encouraged artistic expression while raising awareness about the importance of nature.
  • Art and Craft Competition: Students from classes 4 and 5 demonstrated their resourcefulness and artistic skills in an art and craft competition. They used recycled materials to create environment-themed art pieces, emphasizing the importance of reducing waste and reusing resources.
  • Best Use of Waste Material Competition: Class 8 students engaged in a unique competition that challenged them to find innovative ways to repurpose waste materials. This activity fostered creativity and highlighted the potential of waste materials to be transformed into valuable resources.
  • Plantation Drive: Students from classes 9 and 10 actively participated in a plantation drive, planting saplings within the school premises. This hands-on experience allowed them to contribute directly to a greener environment and understand the importance of trees in mitigating climate change.

The World Environment Day celebrations at VKV School, Suklai were a resounding success, fostering environmental awareness and inspiring students to become responsible stewards of the planet. The diverse activities ensured that students of all ages had the opportunity to learn, express themselves, and contribute to a sustainable future.
