The Bhoomi Puja ceremony of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tamulpur situated near Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Sanskritik Sangha, adjacent to Cotton Club field, Village + P.O: Kachubari, Dist.:Tamulpur-781367 was held on 18th February 2026 from 11 am onwards with great pomp and enthusiasm. The event began with the opening of ribbon of the foundation stone of the Vidyalaya by Sri Anupam Deka, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Tamulpur on behalf of Smt. Simi Karan, IAS, District Commissioner, Tamulpur. The Headmaster (In charge), Sri Jayanta Sutradhar, took his seat on the puja dais with the Pandit Jiten Sarma for chanting of mantras and puspa arpan to mother earth. The ceremony commenced with the performance of the Ganesh Puja, followed by the Bhoomi Puja rituals. At the same time a small programme started with Magalacharan along with lighting of lamp and pushpanjali to Swami Vivekananda by the Guest and other dignitaries. A beautiful Welcome song setting the tone for a joyous and auspicious occasion from Class II of VKV Suklai was performed. After that a Welcome speech highlighting the vision and mission of the school was delivered by Sri Jayanta Sutradhar, Headmaster (In charge) of VKV, Tamulpur. The Headmaster of VKV, Tamulpur felicitated the Chief Guest with a token of love and a traditional Assamese gamocha. The other dignitaries of the Construction Committee were also felicitated. The programme was followed by Speech of the Chief Guest highlighting the importance of good schools in the society. A speech from the local people named Smt. Ranju Devi was delivered. At last Ma. Meera Didi, Joint Secretary of VKSPV gave an informative speech about Vivekananda Kendra and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas. Finally, Vote of thanks was given by Sri Suman Dhar, Principal of VKV Suklai. The ceremony concluded with Shanti path followed by the distribution of prasad. The event was attended by dignitaries, parents, students, local people who all joined in the celebration.
