2nd Veenapani Lalit Kala Samaroh, December 2008, VKV Tinsukia

 

Expressing unit through culturc

If culture is lost, ldentity is lost. The VKV's nourish culture to foster unity among the masses; an objective that finds expression in the biennial Veenapani Lalit Kala Samaroh, a cultural Fest and an initiative of VKSPV, The 2nd Samaroh of its sort was this year attended by 216 students of 12 VKV's. The cultural items such as Bhajan, Borgeet, Patriotic Song, Poem Recitation, Sattriya Dance, Classical (solo) Dance, Mime Show, lnstrumental Recital (String & Tabla) etc. constituted the cultural extravaganza, Renowned personalities from various fields were invited as observers and they also guided the participants to grow further in their respective fields.

Dr. K. K Dwivedi, Deputy Commissioner,Tinsukia and Sri R K Hazarika, Inspector of schools, Tinsukia circle were the Chief Guests of the Udghatan Utsav (Inaugural Function) and the Udjjapan Utsav (Concluding Function) respectively. The whole hearted support of the parents and well wishers made it a landmark in the cultural pursuits of VKSPV.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION AND INVESTIGATORY SCIENCE PROJECT VKV NEEPCO UMRANGSO

Resource person : Sri Vivek Ponkshe, Principal, Jnan Prabodhini prashala, pune

Judges : Professors from NEHU, shillong; central University, Tezpur; lecturers and engineers

from other institutions in Assam. Committed to allowing students to gain salutary experience in research activities at school level VKSPV has been breaking new grounds in the annual Aryabhata Anusandhanatmak vijnan sangosthi (investigatory science project), This time round each participating group presented their impressive research results using power point presentation driving home the fact that learning of science can be effectively complemented only with research activities and experiments. 7 research papers in all were presented in the programme attended by students, parents & well wishers.


Maha Bhaskara Shastra Vijnan Pradarshrni (Science Exhibition) :
Themes for Junior Group : 'Application of a geometrical figure' & 'Atmospheric pressure'
Themes for senior Group : 'Management of solid waste' & 'Ecological imbalance, A total of 16 working models were exhibited in the exhibition which also offered a forum to the budding scientists to interact with many a scientist and resource scholar every evening.

Acharya Prashikshan Shibir

A three-day Acharya Prashikshan Shibir for the Principals and selected teachers of VKV's was

organized at VKV Dibrugarh from 5 to 7 August 2008. Total participants: 46; Principals -15, Teachers -31 In the concluding session Swami Ishatmanandaji Maharaj, Secretary.Ramkrishkna Mission, Deomali was present.Focus of the camp was on Administrative issues. 13 no. of accountants and office assistants were also attended the shibir.

WORKSHOP FOR SCIENCE & MATHEMATICS TEACHERS

 

For Professional growth of the teachers VKSPV organized a workshop for science and Mathematics teachers at Jnan Prabodhini, pune from 20-28 July 2008. Total l3 teachers participated (11 from VKSPV & 2 from VKVAPT).To provide enough exposures and experiences to the participants different types of activities/ programme were designed such as-

1.Experiments and activities on Science and mathematics

2.Visit to different Science and Mathematics institutions & interaction with the concerned persons.

3.Power point show of out door activities by invited eminent personalities & interaction with them.

4.Different talks on Science and educational Philosophy etc.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Vocational Training under the aegis of VKSPV was conducted at Doyang, Umrongso, Tezpur, VK Dibrugarh respectively. 16 sisters and brothers from different villages of N.C. Hills were given training in food processing at VKV Umrongso.9 girls from Suklai and Kajalgaon of Bodoland are sent to VK vocational training centre, Khatkhati, Karbi-Anglong.15 sisters from Wokha, Nagaland participated in a food processing training at VKV Doyang.

Samskar Varga Prashikshan Shibir


Objectives :

MATRI SANMILAN

In this world, the Mother is manifested in her dazzling forms. We should make earnest efforts to look beyond and realise her shakti and gunas through a mother. For which VKSPV organizes Matri Sanmilan in various Vidyalayas whereby 850 Mothers participated.

Objectives : * To create an awareness among Mother's about their role in Nation building.

             * To make them understand their responsibilities of their children in  particular and the society in general.

             * To instill a sense of self-confidence

BHAGINI NIVEDITA JNANA VAHINI SANGOSTHI


Bhagini Nivedita Jnana Vahini Sangosthi  - a  seminar for the teachers of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas was organized for the first time at VKV Nalbari on l8 may 2008. Topic:Nationalistic Education- Means To Integrate It With School Curriculum. Total l5 Papers were presented from 15 Vidyalayas. Keynote address by : Shri Vivek Ponkshe, Principal, Jnana Prabodhini Prashala & Secretary, Educational wing, jnan Prabodhini, Pune.

Moderator : Sri Atulananda Goswami, noted literateur, Sahitya Akademy Awardy, Guwahati.

TEACHING AID WORKSHOP

 

Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag organizes teaching aid workshop for the teachers and students of non VKVs in different of North-East with the educational philosophy of Learning by Doing at suklai, Baksa, Assam Wokha (Nagaland) and Nongthraw (Meghalaya).

Objectives of activity based learning :

* Discover the concept

* Learning becomes joyful and permanent

* Develops life skills

* Activate Psycho-motor domain 

* Enhance thinking capacity and creativity

* Transfer knowledge to others

ABHIBHAVAK SHIBIR

Abhibhavak Shibir for the parents of the students of our Vidyalayas was organized in VKV, Tinsukia on 17 February 2008

Objectives ; * To create a sense of fellow feeling among the Vivekananda Kendra family.

                    * Motivate them to carry forward the work of Vivekananda Kendra

                    * Make them aware about their role in Nation building.

Mananeeya Sri Bhanudasji, General Secretary cum Treasurer Vivekananda Kendra, kanyakumari interacted with the parents in the shibir.

Total Participants : 136 inclusive of Principals, 82 Brothers , 54 Sisters from 15 Vidyalayas.
