The 17th Vidyalaya of VKSPV was inaugurated at Badarpur, Karimganj on 23 March 2009, Sri Vishwas Lapalkar, Secretary, VKSPV performed a Gayatry Hom. The inaugural ceremony was graced with the presence of Sri Bijoy Garodia, Chairman, Barak Valley Cements Ltd. (BVCL) and other officials of BVCL. The contribution of BVCL in establishing the Vidyalaya has been especially remarkable.
