Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, in association with Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dibrugarh Branch, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at the Vivekananda Kendra Anandalaya Bhawan, Mahalaya Road, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s historic World’s Parliament of Religions speech in Chicago on 11th September 1893.
The programme featured a devotional invocation, a chorus Bhuvan Mandale, an inaugural address by Principal Achintya Goswami, and a stirring recitation of the Chicago speech by Kasturva Deka.
Chief guest Sri Mayur Bora, eminent writer, author, thinker inspired the audience with his keynote address on the enduring relevance of Swamiji’s message, urging the younger generation to uphold universal brotherhood, mutual respect, and service to humanity. He also shed light on Swamiji’s vision of spiritual strength and social reform, and drew references to the cultural and social conditions prevailing in Assam during Swamiji’s birth. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Kunjalata Deori Didi, Nagar Sanchalika of the Vivekanda Kendra Dibrugarh Branch.
