The Vidyalaya commenced classes in a rented house near a place named I.T Building, Gohainpara with 45 students in the year 2004. The people of Nalbari welcomed the arrival of the Vidyalaya that attracted parents to admit their children into it.

The Vidyalaya was shifted to its own 10-bigha-plot in village Sandheli donated by late Chittaranjan Patowary, a retired employee of Numaligarh Refinery and a native of the village.
